There is indeed a Chew estate, built as a summer home for Benjamin Chew (1722-1810) in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. The estate is now a property of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and includes 6.5 acres of grounds and four buildings. Except for a break from 1779 to 1797, the property was occupied by Benjamin Chew's descendents until 1970.

The property is open for tours from April to December. Inquiries about the property can be addressed to me or Matt Croson (Curator of Education) via our website (www.cliveden.org) or phone 215-848-1777.
