I descend from Elisha Dunham Chew through his son Elijah W. Chew. Elijah was commonly called Elisha and moved from NJ to Mahaska County Iowa along with his father. His first wife, Jane A. Pyles, died prior to 1850 and by that time he had married Sarah Miler born in Indiana circa 1820. The children of Elijah W. Chew were Amanda, Francis, Matilda, Frances Anna, Florence, and Ella Maria.
