I am conducting initial research for the family and starting out with our Patriarch who delivered our family to America. His name was Achille Chevalier, born June 7, 1843, son of Charley H. Chevalier and Susanna (Werthmuller) Chevalier of the Canton of Bern, Switzeland. He was one of eight children. He also attended the University at Bern before coming to the U.S.A. He settled in the area of Waterloo, Iowa where he was a machinist for the Illinois Central Railroad all of his life. His son, Victor B. Chevalier, my Grandfather, moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa and married my Grandmother, Frances M. (Lindy) Chevalier. Victor was a farmer and meat cutter by trade and profession. Victor's son, Maurice Raymond Chevalier, born January 26, 1932, in Omaha, Nebraska, is my father. Maurice and his wife Betty (Pullen) Chevalier reside in Mohave Valley, Arizona. I would enjoy sharing information and details with any other Chevalier families descended from that name out of Moutier, Canton of Bern, Switzerland. I thank you sincerely for your time and considerations. David V. Chevalier (Born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, February 14, 1953, but now residing in Ogden, Utah) Notify Administrator about this message?
