Circunstanial evidence indicates tha William Cason (Caison), Jr. born ca 1720 either married a Chestnut as his second wife, or had a daughter who married a Chestnut or possibly both. They lived near Turkey in present Sampson, then Duplin, Co N. C. William was a son of William Cason and Jane Cannon who moved from Princess Anne Co. Va. in 1723 to N. C. and settled in what is now Pitt Co. In 1750, William, Jr. and his brother Cannon and sister Mary (wife of Gabriel Holmes, Sr.) moved to Duplin Co. William, Jr. is closely associated with Abraham and Joshua Chestnut.

E. L. "Boe" Williams,
