William P. Chester married 22 SEP 1898 in Morgan County, Tennessee, Bessie L. Alderson. [TN Marr.]

In the 1900 census, Elizabeth Chester, November 1827, 72, widowed, 3 children, 2 living, TN/VA/TN; Wm. P., son, November 1855, married 1 year, TN/TN/TN; Bessie L., daughter-in-law, February 1877, 1 child, 1 living, VA/VA/VA; Abbie R., granddaughter, April 1900, 2/12, TN/TN/VA

In the 1910 census, Bessie and daughter Rebecca are living in Morgan County. She is a widow. Also, in the 1910 census, Elizabeth states that she had 3 children and 1 is living. So I guess William died between 1900-1910. Bessie disappears after 1910. Reba Chester is living with her uncle George Alderson and his family in Coal, Anderson, Tennessee. Reba Chester married 24 DEC 1920 in Morgan County, George Washington Dagley [TN Marr.] - b. 22 JUL 1892 in Oneida, Scott, Tennessee [WWI Registration Card].

I told you that I cannot prove that William Patterson Chester is a son of John Patton Chester and Rebecca Greer Kennedy. I vaguely remember my uncle, Bill Allison, talking about the Chester Inn. It seems to me that he said he visited there a lot in his childhood, or he possibly lived there for a while. I wish I had listened more to that conversation.

I'm trying to prove that Rebecca Kennedy was the daughter of Katherine Greer and John Kennedy.

I have John Chester and Mary Greer's bible dated 1818. It gives information on the children of Robert J. and Elizabeth Patterson Chester, but not the grandchildren. It focused on his children and grandchildren.
