I came across this copy I made in the Morganton Library or Hickory Library don't remember which one ,we spent so much time in both,it all runs together.
This information is from "Caldwell County. N.C. Families Vol. IV page 61,
THE LENOIR TOPIC,Saturday,October 26,1877
We learn that Jesse Chester,who resides in this county,on the Catawba,while engaged in a horse-race at Love Lady,last Monday,was thrown against a tree,and seriously,if not fatally,injured.
I believe this is Joel's son.
