In 1860 Jasper County, Mississippi census, Jeremiah Jones was married to S E Chesser who was born in Alabama. She was 34 years old. (I am assuming this is Sarah Chesser.) Living with her was one female M T Chesser who was 37. The Jones had a son (among other children) named John L. He was 11. I assume that SE and MT were sisters. In 1870 Scott County MS Census, this M T Chesser was living with R L Nobles (female), her children, and one male named L. Jones who was 21. RL was my GGGgrandmother who I just found yesterday. In 1860 she was married to T J Nobles and had no children. T J was not around in 1870 and I suspect he was the Jefferson Nobles who died in a NY prison camp during the Civil War. I am speculating that MT, Sarah (wife of Jeremiah) and RL were sisters. MT and Sarah could not read. I am unable to verify this however--it is speculation only! I do wish the census workers had written down names! Any help would be appreciated.....
