We are still trying to track down the names of Josiah's parents and siblings---with no luck so far.

Do you know if any the Peter's sons or the sons of Cavalier or John Poland--or any other Polands in your line--- ever moved to Tennessee or Iowa. Josiah apparently lived in Tennessee before coming to Iowa in about 1856. We don't know if he moved to Tennessee and Iowa with his parents or on his own as a young adult. There were other Polands in Appanoose County Iowa when Josiah lived there and are still some Poland families there today. He could have moved there with, or to be near family, but we can't connect him with any names there either.

I have copies of both of his marriage certificates and his death certificate. None give the names of his parents.
