I am descended from the Northwestern PA Chess' family. I know that John Chess came to Mercer co from Westmoreland co with 2 of his brothers in 1792 and they were some of the first settlers in the area. Does anyone know if he is related to the chess' families in your area? I cannot seem to find any connections that will take us back farther. Any help is appreciated. John was born around 1754. He had a son named Samuel, born in 1801.Thanks for your time.
