Any help with the name of SARAH CHESHER would be greatly appreciated as she may be the sister-in-law of my GGG Grandfather, WILLIAM L. ROGERS b. 1770 NC who died 1842 in Carroll Co. TN.
ROWAN CO. NC MARRIAGE RECORDS listed SARAH CHESHER married ZACHARIAH ROGERS ( brother of my GGG Grandfather, WILLIAM ROGERS b. 1770 NC ) :
ZACHARIAH ROGERS & SARAH CHESHER - - August 15th, 1820 signed by THOMAS HATCHER.
(*Delpha Cheshire marriage record in Rowan Co. NC in 1822 has listed MATHEW MARKLAND as the BONDSMAN. Mathew MARKLAND of ROWAN Co. NC is related to the BENJAMIN MARKLAND and ELIZABETH MARKLAND that married FREDERICK ROGERS children in Hamilton Co. OHIO. ( FREDERICK ROGERS may be other brother to both WILLIAM and ZACHARIAH ROGERS as well as a JOHN ROGERS ). All the MARKLANDS trace back to the MARYLAND area and from MD into PA, with some splitting off and migrating into VA and NC with others in PA moving to OHIO. It is unknown if Delphia Cheshire is related to SARAH CHESHER also of ROWAN CO. NC but the surname has been found to be spelled many ways including CHESHER, CHESSOR, CHESSER, CHESHIRE, and most all of them are related and living in the ROWAN CO. NC Area in the 1800 era. )

1 Free White male between ages of 50 - 60 years old
1 Free White female between ages of 50-60 years old
*this enumeration seems to be for a male between ages of 50-60 and a female bet. ages of 50-60. This would mean that the male was born per this enumeration, about 1770-1780. This would have been in the same time period as the listed son of JAMES ROGERS JR. , known as ZACHARIAH ROGERS b. abt. 1790 Montgomery Co. NC but as the other sons of James Rogers, Jr. were born between the years of 1760-1775, I would think ZACHARIAH ROGERS ( son of JAMES ROGERS, JR. ) would have been born between 1775-1780 if this is indeed his enumeration on the 1830 Rowan Co. NC census.
