I have a Eugenia Cheshire being counted as the daughter of James L.,age 35, and Lucresey Cheshire, age 25, in the 1880 Census of Hamilton Co., FL. Her age is 13 and born in Fl. Her father was born in Fl. and her mother in SC. Siblings listed are Susan L., 9; Alvin G., 8; Lucesey, 6; James R.H., 4. Ellen Kirkland born in SC is listed as sister in law. This James L. married Lucretia Crane 2 Jan. 1866. He died 22 Sept. 1883 near Jasper, FL. He was the son of John R. Cheshire and Tabitha Hall Cheshire. John R. was bc. 1800 in North Carolina (probably Bladen Co.)and dc. 1860 Hamilton, Co., FL. Tabitha was bc. 1808 in NC and dc. 1870 in Hamilton Co., Fl. Have 13 children of John R. and Tabitha. David, Mary, Nessy, Nathanial, James L., Thomas, John R., William H.H., Nancy E., Amanda, Tabitha, and Ben. John R. Cheshire, SR's father was Nicholas Cheshire (1757-dc 1833) of Bladen Co., NC. Nicholas had three brothers- William A., Randolph, and Richard. Nicholas' father was Richard Cheshire, b. 1730 in Baltimore Co., MD. Richard married a FitzRandolph in Bladen Co., NC. She was probably a daughter of Benjamin FitzRandolph. Richard Cheshire's mother was Elizabeth Cheshire.
