Information I have says that Daniel Simpson Cheshire was b. 9-16-1836 in Overton Co., TN. Parents, John Baptist Cheshire and Louisa A. Gaines. John Baptist b. 1790, d. 1853, was the 4th child of Daniel Cheshire and Jane (Jean or Jennie) Simpson. Her parents were John and Hannah Cheshire. This info from Vicky Wade email snugget@pioneer.com. I don't know if she's still there or not.
Other info says John Baptist's father was John Cheshire b. ca 1730 "of Prince William Co., VA" and his mother Sythey or Scitia b. ca 1733. This from LDS Ancestral file.
I am researching another John Baptist Cheshire and looked into this family. I know there is a Simpson family book out somewhere, that mentions the Cheshire-Simpson connection. I think Sarah Simpson was the Sythey mentioned above. Good luck.
