In 1819, John Baptist Chesshir was born in Halifax Co., VA, the son of Bapist Chessher. Nancy Chessher, Baptist's daughter, had been born in abt. 1788 in Halifax Co., VA. She married Elijah Woosley in 1803. Their daughter, Margaret Frances "Peggy" Woosley was born in 1804 and married James Thomas Stone in 1819. The young Stone couple and Elijah and Nancy Woosley then moved with their families to Bedford Co., Tennessee, where they are all buried. It is quite possible that some of Nancy's siblings also accompanied them to Tennessee. Nancy may have had a brother named Daniel Chessher/Cheshire b. abt. 1780. My knowledge about the father, Baptist, is slim; but I have not run into many people named Baptist Chessher in my research, and I think these people are probably related.
