The National Genealogical Society Quarterly, Vol 73, p. 274 has the Rev. William Leveredge from Sandwich, Mass. migrating to Long Island in 1654. Elizabeth Howland and her second husband, John Dickinson, were part of this movement. Their descendants include Wright, Townsend, Cheshire, Harcourt, Gibbs, Coles, Pearse, Pennoyer, and Lawrence families.
