I am trying to find out who the parents of Dennis CHESHIER are. Dennis was born abt. 1800 in VA. The earliest record I have of him is when he married Betsie AULT on Feb. 28, 1822 in Knox Co., TN. He appeared on the 1830 Census of Knox Co., TN. He had one male and one female ages 0-5 yrs. and one male and one female ages 5-10. Dennis' age was listed as 30-40 yrs. and Betsy's age was listed as 20-30 yrs. The name was listed as CHESHER.
On Feb 10, 1842, he married Eliza Thomas in Grainger Co., TN. Evidently, Betsy AULT had passed away or they became divorced.
Dennis and his family were on the 1850 census of Hamilton Co., TN. The children were:
Sarah, born abt. 1843
Calvin Calloway, born abt. 1845
Susan, born abt. 1846
Lydia, born abt. 1848
In the 1860 census of Hamilton Co., TN, Dennis was not with the family. On Aug 22, 1850, my great grandfather, Albert Dennis CHESHIER was born in Hamilton Co., TN. So, Dennis either passed away or left the family between 1850 and 1860.
Dennis CHESHIER's descendants spell the name CHESHIER.
I feel that Dennis may be related to Daniel CHESHIER and Jane SIMPSON of VA. Daniel may be Dennis' father or uncle. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
