I am looking for my great grandfather George Washington Cherry's (born abt 1862 in Ellenton, SC) siblings and parents. I believe G.W.'s father was a Dutch sailor who emigrated to America before G.W. was born and he may have married a Native American. G.W. and his wife Carrie Merritt Poole (of Reevetown, SC) had 11 children: Jack, Minnie, John Harvey, Charles, George Thomas (adopted), Wordlaw, Emma, Alonza, Council, and Leon.
