We are seeking information concerning the Aaron Cherry who migrated to TX btwn 1818-1825. This Aaron Cherry is purportedly the Aaron Cherry born in VA or perhaps PA and lived in Highland Co, OH before moving to TX via LA. He is buried at Concord Cemetery in Liberty Co. TX. Although there are genealogical data to support the above conclusions, several facts are puzzling. He was supposedly born in 1746 and died in 1856, which would have made him 110 years old (possible, but not probable). He purportedly married Penelope Pierce from Hamilton OH who was born in 1780. This would have made him 34 yrs her senior. His first child, Sarah, was born in 1805, at which time he would have been abt. 59 years old. His last child, Rachel, was born in 1819, at which time he would have been 73 (again, possible but not probable). His wife, however, would have been of child-bearing age during this period. Finally, in the 1826 Census of Atascosito District of Texas -- Mr. Cherry listed his age as 47 which would place his birth at about 1779 and would put him at an age similar to that listed for Penelope Pierce. We are wondering if perhaps the Aaron Cherry that came to TX is not the same Aaron Cherry born in 1746, perhaps he is a son or another relative. Any information to enlighten us would be most appreciated. We have a great deal of information concerning the Cherry family in TX and would be happy to share it. Thank you for your help in solving this puzzle. Jerry Cherry
