Sir,

I just read your post about a Carrie Cherry and Hallie, in California i the 1870 and 1880s, you might have happened on something here. The Roots of The Cherry Tree, by Marjorie Loomis-Cherry, lists my Gr-Gr-Grandfather having two daughters by that name, he lived in Hancock County Ohio (along with many other Family members) prior to that period. He enlisted in the Union Army during the civil war and mustered in from Sacremento, CA and served with the 4th California Infantry. There is no mention of either of the Girls after his return to Ohio.

Do you have any further information?

Thanks, Rick Cherry
