Greetings,
I've never inquired into my family origins before (other than simple Google searches occasionally). I stumbled across this forum, and it looks interesting.
I'm wondering how to go about finding information about my father's family tree. His name was James Leonard Cherry.
My mom and dad divorced when I was very young (five years old) and we completely lost track of him. I haven't seen or heard from him since I was six, I think, and that was just for a few minutes. My mom has since passed on, and I know next-to-nothing about my Dad's side of the family.
I am now 48 years old. I was born in Kokomo, Indiana, but I'm pretty sure my dad was from Norfolk, Virginia.
If there is anyone on here who thinks we might be related, or has any clues about a James Cherry (born sometime around 1938 or 1939) in Norfolk, I'd love to hear from you.
