Newton b.1849 and Sarah J. cherry b.1850 were the children of Pleasant(male)Cherry b.1806 and Sidney (female) Carter b.1813. Pleasant's parents were John Cherry b.1785 in norfolk, Va.and Nancy Odle. John's father was Lemuel cherry. Lemuel and wife Sarah McPherson and 9 children settled in Jackson co. after war of 1812. I am a decendent of Newton and Sarah's brother Jobe Cherry and Caroline greenwood.
