Descendants of John CHERRY
Generation No. 1
1. JOHN CHERRY was born Abt. 1799 in Paxino's Shamokin Northumberland CO
PA, and died November 26, 1842. He married ELIZABETH PERSING, daughter of
PHILLIP PERSING and MARY EVELAND. She was born November 09, 1798 in Irish
Valley Northumberland CO PA, and died February 22, 1876 in Irish Valley.

Bell Book
His father"came to America in the early days of the development of this
region and settled in the lower part of Northumberland county, Pa.,
passing the remainder of his life here. Beyond the fact that he died
when a young man little is known concerning him"
John Cherry lived at Hollowing Run, near Fisher's Ferry, in Lower
Augusta township, Northumberland county, and there followed his trade,
that of blacksmith, throughout his active years. He died there when
comparatively a young man, and is buried along the river bank near
Fisher's Ferry.
One of these must be his father.
