Cherry to Cheary?

My husband spells his family name 'Cheary', spoken like Cherry. I am looking for information on George Cheary b. abt 1836 in England. He was in Washington Co. AR by 1872 when he married Hannah Osburn Guinn. In the marriage record, his name is spelled Chery. There is a land record for him in which his name is spelled Cherry. He and Hannah had children named James, John, Daniel, Samuel, Issac and Rebecca. There may have been more, and these are not in any particular order. All the children used the spelling Cheary. Any information would be great. Thanks, Becky Cheary
