Gail: I don't know if this is the family you are looking for, but I have some information on the Cherry's. Newt(on) Cherry (b.abt. 1848) married Arminda Peek (b.1870) in Tennessee. When she married, her father James Peek (mother Tennessee Elizabeth Eldridge) disowned her, and they never saw each other again as far as anyone knows. After Newt died, and she lost her farm, and she contacted her brother, my Grandfather Dan Logan Peek and he built her a house in Arkansas (Searcy County), on his property. They had not been in contact for almost 30 years. She moved there with 2 daughters that were still at home. Some (or all) of her grown children followed. One daughter married in Searcy county, to a "Tyler" or "Taylor". I believe there are still Cherry's in Ark., but family history believe she moved to Oklahoma, where she is buried. I don't know any of the childrens' names. If this if the family you are looking for, I would be interested in Arminda's descendants.
