I believe that Sidney Carter, who married Pleasant Cherry, is the daughter of Levi Carter. She was born about 1823 in TN (as you know), died after 1880, and married about 1845. Levi was born about 1795 in NC, married Ruth (supposedly an indian), and died after 1880. Ruth was born abt. 1796 in NC and died before 1870. I believe that Alsy, who you have as Jones, was also a Carter, a sister of Sidney. She was born about 1826 in TN, and married Caleb O.about 1846. I am a descendent of Levi Carter, although of another sibling. I'm afraid I have no proof of these marriages; this is mostly from family lore. You may have noted that on one of the censuses (the 1850 I believe, without looking it up) there is a Sampson Carter living between Pleasant and Caleb. I believe this may be a brother to the two girls. You will see that he is married to a Harriet. I was hoping this was a Harriet Cherry, but apparently not.
