My wife's grandfather, James C. Cherry, was born in Wilkenson County, GA, anywhere between 1843 and 1848. He fought with the 57th Georgia Infantry during the Civil War, was captured at Vickburg and released 3 days later. He fought during the Atlanta campaign as well and died in 1933. He apparently had 3 wives and Hattie Cherry of Wheeler County, GA, was his widow. Does anyone have information on him?
