Frank: It's very possible they are one and the same surname. My gr.gr.grandmother was Elizabeth Cherry (Cherrie, Cherri, Cherrey). I've seen the surname spelled several ways. She married Frank Lowmiller. Not sure of dates and places though. They did wind up in eastern Ohio prior to the birth of my greatgrandmother, Eliza Jane. There were other children, but I don't know their names for certain. Eliza Jane Lowmiller married Solomon Burrier. Do you have any of these names in your line?
