The correct pronunciation for any Cheney is how their parents taught them. Historically, however, remember that Cheney is a French Norman name from du Chêne (Old Fr. du Quesnay), or oak tree. In French, it's pronounced 'dew shane' so I would guess that Chay-nee is closest to the original, despite what Lynne Cheney says. Besides, does anyone here want to claim Dick Cheney in their family? When people ask if I'm related to him, I smile and say, No, he's from the demonic branch of our family ;-)
