Hello Katherine: My mother was a Chellis from Michigan via N.H. and Amesbury, Mass. I have checked this line and do not have any connections in VT. Up until the 1800's the name was always spelled with an "A" rather than an "E" so you may have better luck trying the Challis message board. Good Luck with your search. William L. Mallory
