Still seeking information about Cheever families in Lynn, Saugus, and Malden, areas of Massachusetts, especially the following: Parentage of both: JAMES CHEEVER who married MARGRET (Mrs.?)WILSON in Lynn, MA on 19 May, 1791. There is a birth for a James Cheever in the Lynn VR to 1850 for 1767, but it does not list parents. It has been speculated that Margret was the widow of a Benjamin Wilson, but I have discounted this because Benjamin and Margret were having children at the same time that James Cheever and his Margret were, so I am looking for a source for her maiden name. Could be that (Mrs.) meant Mistress and she was a lady of stature?? and not a widow. AND information about their son William's wife LUCY PENISON, (Spelled various ways in the same family records as Pennison, Penderson, Penerson, Pennerson, Peneson, etc. Could also be the variant Peniston). Her parents (I am assuming here because theses were the only other people of this name I could find in this area who were the correct age??) were JOHN PENISON, of Malden and SARAH (SALLY)(mrs?) BURRILL, married Aug. 9, 1790. I also am assuming that Lucy Penison had a brother named JAMES PENISON (Same variations in the spelling) who married LYDIA N. DAMPNEY in Saugus, MA in 1821. Seems he died before 1825 as Lydia N. Pennerson remarried a JAMES OLIVER in 1825. Also information linking a LEWIS PENISON to the above families, whose death is recorded there in the same time frame, with no other information except a death date. Any information about any of these families would be greatly appreciated.
