Adrian,

I've just found your message on the Culshaw Forum page and think that we are distantly related. Your James Cheetham (Halsall 1794), is the gt.grandfather of Mary Cheetham (born 1868)who married William Culshaw, (boatman of Halsall) in 1887. William was my gt.grandmother's brother. Her name was Margaret and she married William Thompson (Eaves) in 1887 also. I hope this information is of some use to you. I know the Cheethams, Culshaws and Eaves were all connected to the Leeds-Liverpool canal, and any other information you could supply would be very welcome.

Best wishes

Yvonne Fitch (nee Thompson/Eaves)
