There are a number of Richard Cheesmans living in Gloucester County, New Jersey region at the same time in the early 1800's. The Richard Cheesman who married Rebecca Webb (1812-1906) 17 MAR 1837, was born in 1811 Gloucester County, New Jersey, a "possible" son of Peter T. Cheesman (1780/90-1831) and Rebecca Clark. He died in 1888, Camden County, New Jersey at 77 years of age. The reason I state "possible" instead of probable son of Peter T. Cheesman, is because there was another Richard Cheesman born in the same region of New Jersey, who moved to Hamilton, Ohio where he married Sarah Holt, 06 MAY 1841.
A couple of cousins (now deceased) were certain, but could never prove this 2nd Richard who moved to Ohio (his last known address) was Peter T. and Rebecca (Clark) Cheesman's son... Personally, I believe the Richard you're inquiring about is one of Peter and Rebecca's five sons. Thought you might want the breadth and width of the subject. God bless, good luck and Happy New Year! Dave Cheesman
