I don't know if this will be helpful to you are not, but here goes:
Riley Cheesman, born ca 1795, Downe, Cumberland county, New Jersey; Married Martha Rose 30 JUN 1818, Downe, Cumberland county, New Jersey. He enlisted for 6 months duty in the "War with Britain (War of 1812)" and served as a Private in Capt. Peter Ladow's Infantry, Major William Potter's Detachment of New Jersey Detailed Militia of Cumberland county. He was discharged from active duty 31 OCT 1813, New Jersey.
