Lisa, you said the magic name... Capt. James N. Whitehead!
I looked up James N. Whitehead in my manuscript and found:
John Jacob Whitehead, born 16 DEC 1877, Hillsboro, Jefferson county, Missouri, son of James N. Whitehead and Amanda Cheesman. Died 08 MAY 1940, San Diego, California.
John Jacob Whitehead's parents, James N. Whitehead and Amanda Cheesman, married 12 JUL 1866, Hillsboro, Jefferson county, Missouri.
Yes, thank you so much, I have the Fisler's as from Switzerland... The Fisher and Fisler surnames are commonly confused by some researchers because there is both Fisher and Fisler lines that connect closely to Cheesman and its variations (Cheeseman, Cheasman, Chesman, Chessman, etc).
Thank you, I will copy your email address in hopes I can help further when I return.
Dave
