My great(10th) grandfather, Edmund (Edward?) Chisman/Cheesman (1602-1678) came to the America (Virginia) in 1623 on the ship "Providence". He supposedly came from Deptford, Kent. He had a brother John who also came to the Colonies about the same time and who owned tenements in Braban, Kent. I would welcome information on their parents and earlier predecessors
