I was very excited to see the discussion of Samuel Cheeseman's wife having been Ann Coles, the widow of Mudge.

Is these a record of the issue of Samuel Cheeseman and
Ann Coles?

I am trying to document the ancestry of Elutheer Cheeseman, born 14 February 1749/50 in Long Island, who married Oliver Besly in Westchester County, NY, and died in Greenfield, NY in 1810.

In the 1980s Georganna Klass Willits, a Besly researcher,
determined that Elutheer's father was probably Samuel Cheeseman, based I believe on the fact that he lived in the
same area as Oliver Besly, but she could never find Samuel Cheeseman's wife.

I would appreciate knowing the scoop on what is known on the issue of this Samuel Cheeseman, as Mrs. Willits is very elderly, and has been very kind to me, and it would be wonderful to be able to share this information with her.

However, they did have a son named Coles Besly, and I'm certain this is good evidence that Elutheer was the daughter of these parents.

Many thanks,

Sharilyn Whitaker
