John Cheeseman 1730's / L Cheeseman 1822

While researching the family name of BACKSHELL, I have come across an 'L Cheeseman' who was a witness at the marrige of William Backshell & Elizabeth Price in St Thomas Portsmouth, 1822.
Also I have found a John Cheeseman a friend of a John Backshell ( a rector) possibly in Petworth or Chichester, in the first half of the 1700's.
