I found another obscure connection in ship records in a Peter Coldham book on early Colonial records...complaints to court in a nutshell...John Shakerley of Falmouth, Cornwall, aged 19 (so born @1635) who has lived there most of his life, served on the ship Rappahannock, bound for VA, which was seized in April/May 1655 and rerouted, cargo redistributed resulting in lost revenue and time.It appears as if John lived to testify.
