Martha Elizabeth Cheek born 1847 Ohio or Kentucky

I am looking for information on Martha Elizabeth Cheek.
She was born 17 Nov 1847 either in Ohio or Kentucky.
She married Samuel Columbus Griffin 4 Feb 1866, Concord, Cabarrus County, North Carolina.
Living in Concord, North Carolina in the 1880 Census. Then moved to Chattanooga, Tn. She died 20 May 1919, Hamilton County TN.
I have hit a brick wall, there is no Cheek family that wants to claim her.
Was she adopted? She also had a sister who went by the name of Sally, do not know when she was born. She married an Arthur Lyons.Don't know what happen to these either.
If anyone on this board can help in anyway. I would appreciate it.
