James Chick is listed as a soldier in the French and Indian War as follows:

James Chick, 23, 5'9 1/2", Act of Assembly, Virginia, saddler, Winchester, King and Queen, ruddy complexion, long nose, short brown hair

The listing is on Ancestry.com - Virginia's Colonial Soldiers, French and Indian War, 1754-1763, page 100. Although his listing is not dated, the others on the page are dated between 1754-56.

I found the other descriptions very amusing with scars, pox, moles, large brows or bushy hair, one has white eyes, some have swarthy complexion, or with full face, thin visage or well set.

It sparks the imagination...
