My ggggrandfather Willis Drayton Cheek,son of Ellis Cheek b1760 and Elizabeth Smith,was born in South Carolina about 1805.Researcher Jeffrey Williams of Cheek Chronicles has him married twice,as does Jimmy J Cheek in Gencircles,first to Martha Williams in Orange County, North Carolina in 1827,then to Priscilla "Patsy" Simms in Laurens, South Carolina.Can someone help me with this? Our family 'lore' has him married only once to Priscilla Simms in 1830.
In this same timeframe Ellis's brother William Martin Cheek and his wife Priscilla had a child named Willis,born est 1800. This is the only other Willis I have found near the same age,but possibly that is the Willis that married Martha Williams in North Carolina.Just possibilities, but in another place I found this Willis's first wife called Susannah Williams.
