HI Jack , My mothers maden name is Cheek I have a brother named John Cheek , her family is fron Maury Co Tenn. and NC. & SC. before that what year is any ones guess , late 1600 maby before that most all record are lost or was never kept ..
The big problem is Cheeks had lots of children and so there was lots of cousins that all had the same name and many was born in the same year and there father was cousins that has the same name .. So it is almost imposible to know who is who .. There might be 50 or more John Cheeks .. and the year of 1650 seems a bit early unless your John was born in England .. I too would like to know more about the cheeks that came to the Americas ..I do know there was several different familys of cheeks that came to the Americas during the 1700 , to NY. & VA. and the Carolinas , but ther is little or no records .. I know this reply is of no use to you But just want you to know what lies ahead for you .. Go to Goggle and type in Cheek see what comes up .
