My husband's family is related to Burgess Cheek. We are descended from his oldest child, William Jasper Cheek (brother of Isaac Newton Cheek) born about 1818-1819 in Americus, Sumpter County, GA and died Dec. 1862 in TN. Believed to have been wounded in the Battle of Bull Run, taken prisoner in August 1862 and then later died at his home in TN, but is buried in Arlington Cemetery (perhaps in the Confederate section). Then thru his son, Isaac Marion Cheek, born Sept. 4, 1848 in GA and died Nov. 17, 1937 in Holt, MO; then thru his son, Ollis Ray Cheek, born Feb. 2, 1896 in Holt, MO and died Nov. 13, 1980 in Liberty, MO; then thru his son, Raymond Eugene Cheek; then to my husband. Accoring to my husband's cousin, she has Burgess Cheeks' parents as William Martin Cheek b. 1752 in Orange County, NC and died in 1845 in Franklin Co., GA and Percilla Ann Sartain, b. about 1755 unknown location. Would like to have copies of your letters if possible. All so interesting. Would be glad to share other info although I don't have anything on Isaac Newton Cheek :(
Sincerely, Kathryn
