Hi Jim-- NOT my family but thought to help you out a tad: Bruce Edward Cheek born 1920 TN enlisted on 12 Apr 1944 at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri. He was married and enlisted as a Private. I found his parents: 1920 Census of Madison Co., TN: Joe Cheek 22 TN (born c1898) <<--------- Ollie 23 TN (born c 1897) <<--------- Marguarite 3 TN (born 1917) (Bruce was not yet born when the census was taken) (I bet Joe & Ollie married in Madison Co., TN about 1916) right next to them is !! J.E. Cheek 53 b: 1866 Alice 47 Jeff 11 Pauline 7 1910 Census of Madison Co., TN Joseph E. Cheek 44 (b: 1866) MS Alice P 35 (b: 1875) AL Joseph 12 (b: 1898) TN <<------- Anna 11 (b: 1899) TN Roy J 10 (b: 1900) TN Ida May 8 (b: 1902) TN In 1910, Joseph E. & Alice reported they had been married 16 years (c1893) and has 6 kids and 4 were living. 1900 Census of Marshall Co., KY Joseph E. Cheek 34 MS-NC-NC Railroad Allice P. 22 AL-AL-AL George M. 5 b:Aug 1894 Joseph 2 b:Jun 1897 <<---------- Addie O. 1 b:Nov 1898 Also living in their household was the brother-in-law Joseph Foshee. They reported they had been married 6 years and had 4 kids and 3 were living. Alice/Alline Foshee was from Jackson Co., AL. Joseph E. Cheek reported was born in Miss. and may have traveled with the building of the railroad to KY. Good luck in your search. Also. ask your Mom if Bruce Edward Cheek's father was Joseph Harding Cheek and the grandfather was Joseph Edward Cheek who had married Alice (Alline) Foshee. You might have that backwards. See if this rings a bell for her... Happy Hunting! A Texas Cheek Hunter! Notify Administrator about this message?
