Jose Chavez y Chavez rode with Billy the Kid during the Lincoln County War in New Mexico. He was born in Cebolleta, New Mexico the son of Jose Maria Chavez and Maria Isadora Chavez. I think that his mother died before 1855 and his father married a Maria Baca? This Maria Baca was the daughter of Don Juan Estevan Baca and Dona Rafaela Pino of the Tome area.
