Barbara: I have that Elizabeth's father was John Chavers/Chavous, possibly French. Supposedly, 8 brothers from the Alsace Lorraine area came to America to fight with the Indians in the French & Indian War. They stayed and some married Native women.

I am descended through William Chavers, brother of Elizabeth. He married Easter Williams; their son Uriah married Elizabeth Smith; their son Seaborn W. married Nancy Brewton, their daughter Erma was my grandmother. She died when my mom was 12 years old. My mom grew up in a little town in Escambia Co., FL named Bogia.

Happy Hunting!
