The Chavers that I'm trying to make a connection to are from Ohio and N.C. but I'm not sure. My husbands' fathers' mother was a Chavers before she married a Peters.
Known facts: Mima Jane Chavers; father Richard Chavers of Ohio gave birth to 3 children, one can be found in the 1910 census for south charleston, OHIO, my father-in-law Raymond who was born in 1907 is not found in this census. He was later given up for adoption to the Oatneal family in washington court house, Ohio. We can't find any record of him period. So we are looking for his mothers' family which know are Chavers. There was an uncle George W. Chavers (1865-1955) of Madison Co Ohio whose father was James Chavers mother Lavina Scott. At the time of his death there were two sisters, Rosa Bell Chavers-Maddie, Mary Chavers-Raglin, and a nephew Pearl Chavers. We can't find of these Chavers after 1910. Are any of you related to these Chavers and have more info
