Joseph Chauvin married his brother's slave child...great stuff

Wow, this is very interesting. Thanks for introducing me to this research. Even if Joseph and Nicolas are not my ancestors, (their sister Marie-Marthe Chauvin was my 7th great grandmother), they are my 7th great granduncles, so I am entering a lot of the information that Sadie Sparks compiled in my notes. It is too bad that she died this pass Aug., because she did a lot of great research. I am glad that her family has kept it posted.

Finding out that Nicolas Chauvin and his Indian slave Catherine had a child named Hypolite Chauvin, was very interesting. Then more interesting was finding out that later on Nicolasís brother Joseph Chauvin married his brotherís Indian child Hypolite Chauvin. This is stuff that researchers dream of.
