In search of the origin and parents of Pierre Valentine? Chauvin (Chavin, Chevin, Shevin, Shavin, Javin, Gavin, Gevin, etc). Not sure if "Chauvin" is the correct spelling of Peter's surname, but it is currently my best guess. It has been mangaled by the Goverment, Church and the PA-DUTCH. Family tradition states Peter was born in Paris, France and came to the colonies with Marquis de LaFayette to aid in the American Revolutionary War. Peter was born c 1750-1760 and died in Crawford County, PA c1821. In 1785, he married Catrherine Dom (PA-DUTCH), the daughter Casper and Eva Marie Dom in St Paul's Roman Catholic Mission at Goshenhoppen, today The Church of the Most Blessed Scrament at Baly, Washngton Twp, Bucks County, PA. In 1803, Pierre and Catherine and six childrern maved to Crawford Co, PA where he died.
