Hi Craig: My husband Joseph Emerson Charleville and I are coming to New Orleans on Wednesday, May 23 and Thursday, May 24 planning to do a bit of research on the Charlevilles of the South. We have found a family who lives in Port Allen, LA.

My husband is one of the four brothers and their two sisters who left their Canadian homes and arrived in the Louisiana colony at Biloxi in 1706 or earlier.

They were Jacques Chauvin de Charleville, Joseph Chauvin de Lery, Nicolas Chauvin de la Freniere, Louis Chauvin de Beaulieu, Barbe Chauvin and Michelle Chauvin. I have other information on these brothers. From these pioneers, I have been able to trace Joseph Charleville to Jean Baptiste Chauvin dit Charleville who married Francoise Brazeau, of Kaskaskia eventually moving to St. Louis, Mo.

I don't know what information I might have, but would enjoy talking with you. You can e-mail me directly.
