The only info I have on Jacques Chauvin is from the Genealogy of the French Families of the Detroit River Region. It shows that he was born 1665 in the parish of Malville, diocese of Xaintes, France. He m. 1st Jane Gignois who died in France. He came to Canada and m. 2nd 16 Jan. 1696 to Mary Cauchon dit Duchateau, widow of Oliver Michael, dau. of John Cauchon and Magdalene Miville. He was a toolsmith and resided St. Nicholas St., Quebec. Wish I had more to help you cause this is pretty generic info.
